Hearing

Audiology
All pupils have access
to and use of amplification suitable to their needs. Radio aids
are available for pupils to use in mainstream lessons when appropriate.
Hearing
aids are checked daily by a member of the Hearing Support Centre
staff and minor maintenance carried out as required. If major faults
are detected, the aid is sent to the pupils issuing Health
Authority for repair or replacement.
An
audiology technician from the Maelor hospital visits regularly to
test hearing aid performance, balance radio aids and take impressions
for ear moulds when required.
