A LEVEL RESULTS PRODUCE RECORD NUMBERS OF TOP GRADES
Headteacher Mr. Ashley Jones said:
“I am delighted to report that this set of results has set a new record for top grades. We have the largest Sixth Form in Wales with over 550 entries, and this year half of the grades achieved were B or above with almost 30% being A or A*.
24 of our students achieved at least three A grades, with their success being spread across all subjects. The top individual performance came from Yasmeen Amin of Hawarden who achieved A* in all three of her subjects Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
This year we are also delighted with our outstanding science results, particularly as three of our students have been accepted onto the prestigious Astrophysics course at Manchester, the country’s top department, after having scored three A* and seven A grades between them.
This summer has also seen some of our best ever BTEC results, with six students achieving a triple Distinction in either Performing or Production Arts.”
